(Located on the North Dakota State Fair Grounds)

The Pioneer Village of the Ward County Historical Society is located on the North Dakota State Fair Grounds, in Minot ND. In addition to the Pioneer Village there is an Antique Vehicles  Museum displaying antique cars, horse-drawn buggies and sleds.

All the buildings and items have been damaged by the flood of 2011.  With the help of volunteers , FEMA and financial contributions we are well on our way to recovery.  WCHS is looking forward to your visit the summer of 2013.

The original Sundre Log Cabin is also on display as well as the original South Prairie Cook Car donated by Lorraine Smith of South Prairie. A Blacksmith shop, General store and the original (Imperial) Ward County Court House which has served many colorful and various functions over the years are on display.

Since the devastating Minot flood of 2011 we have restored many buildings. Of our thirteen historical buildings we have completely restored eight of them. Some of these buildings are the Mercantile, Court house, Black Smith shop, Sundre log cabin (seen above), the Church, and the Harmon house. The buildings we still need to restore are the Train depot, the Samuelson house, the school, and the warehouse. All the cars and farm machinery are all badly damaged from the horrific flood.
